Board Supervision

North Carolina Board Supervision for LCMHC-As

I believe that the supervision process is a collaboration between supervisee and supervisor. I utilize a developmental model of supervision and believe in teaching supervisees the skills to become independent, competent, ethical and more purposeful counselors, who will work towards helping others thrive and have healthier, more meaningful lives.

This will depend on your needs, preferences and therapist recommendations. Typically, a client will start having therapy on a weekly basis. Then, as the client is feeling better and more confident in using the skills learned in sessions, the therapy could be every two weeks and then monthly.  Depending on the issue or concern, therapy could be as few as 4 or 5 sessions or could continue for many months. Some clients like to have monthly check-ins to maintain the gains they have made in therapy.
